What Mauve Studios collects, what we never collect, and how to control your data — kept short and human, on purpose.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Mauve Studios — the editorial publication of MauveVerse — collects when you visit this journal, subscribe to the newsletter, or send us a message, how that information is used, and the choices you have over it. No legal jargon, no dark patterns, no hidden data-sharing agreements. Most privacy policies run long because they’re written to cover every possible edge case an agency’s lawyers can imagine. Ours is short because our actual data practices are short. We collect three categories of information, we use each one for exactly one purpose, and we don’t do anything with your data that isn’t described on this page. If a future feature — a comment system, a members’ area, a paid product — ever changes that, this page will change first, and the update will be dated at the top.

What We Collect

We keep data collection deliberately narrow. Here is the complete list — not a sample, not “for example,” the whole thing:

  • Analytics. Aggregated, anonymized page-view data via privacy-respecting analytics. No fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. This tells us which essays are working and which pages need attention — nothing about you individually.
  • Newsletter sign-ups. Your email address and the date you subscribed. Nothing else. We don’t ask for your name, company, or role, because we don’t need them to send you an essay every other Sunday.
  • Contact form submissions. Whatever you choose to send us. Stored in our CRM and deleted on request. If you mention a project budget or timeline in your message, that stays in the same record — we don’t extract it into a separate marketing database.

How We Use What We Collect

Each category of data has exactly one job:

  • Analytics inform editorial decisions — what to write next, what to update, what to retire.
  • Newsletter emails are used only to deliver the newsletter. We don’t segment subscribers for ad targeting or hand the list to a third party for co-marketing.
  • Contact form submissions are used only to respond to you. They’re not added to a cold-outreach list or shared outside the team member handling your inquiry.

We don’t build profiles that combine these categories. Someone who reads the journal, subscribes to the newsletter, and later fills out the contact form is not stitched together into a single tracked identity behind the scenes.

What We Do Not Collect

  • No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no remarketing pixels.
  • No selling of any kind of personal data to anyone, ever.
  • No behavioral profiles built from your browsing activity on other sites.
  • No data shared with ad networks or data brokers.

Data Retention & Security

Newsletter email addresses are kept for as long as you remain subscribed and removed automatically when you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions live in our CRM until you ask us to delete them, or until they’re no longer relevant to an active or past engagement. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized at the point of collection, so there’s no individual record to retain or delete in the first place.

We limit who on the team can access stored contact and subscriber data, and we don’t export it to spreadsheets, shared drives, or tools outside our core CRM and email platform.

Children’s Privacy

This site and journal are intended for a business and professional audience. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the newsletter and contact form are not directed at anyone under the age of 16.

Your Rights

If you are in the EU, UK, California, or any other jurisdiction with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your data. Email ask@mauveverse.com and we will turn around your request within 14 days. You don’t need to cite a specific law or use formal language to exercise these rights — a plain email telling us what you’d like done with your data is enough. If you’ve simply changed your mind about the newsletter, the unsubscribe link in every email is the fastest route and doesn’t require contacting us directly.

Changes to This Policy

This page is reviewed annually and updated sooner if our data practices change. Material changes — anything that expands what we collect or how we use it — will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date at the top of the page, so returning visitors can see at a glance whether anything has shifted.
