Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about pricing, timelines, CMS choice, and how projects work with Mauve Studios and MauveVerse.

About This FAQ

This page collects the questions we hear most often from prospective clients, readers of the journal, and partner agencies — pricing, timelines, CMS recommendations, and ongoing support. Every answer below reflects how we actually run engagements at MauveVerse, not a generic agency script. If your question isn’t covered, get in touch and a member of the team will reply directly.

General

What does Mauve Studios actually do?

Mauve Studios is the editorial publication of MauveVerse, a digital agency offering web design, SEO, branding, and eCommerce services. See the full services page for a breakdown of everything on offer.

Where is MauveVerse located?

MauveVerse is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with team members working across the US, Europe, and South Asia. We work in client time zones.

Do you accept guest posts on the journal?

No. Every essay published on the journal is written in-house by a member of the Mauve Studios team. We do not run sponsored content or paid placements.

How do I subscribe to the newsletter?

Use the subscribe form on the homepage or on any article page. One essay lands in your inbox every other Sunday.

Pricing & Timelines

How much do projects cost?

Brand projects start at $5,000. Website projects start at $299. SEO retainers start at $300/month. Full pricing details live on the services page.

How long does a typical project take?

Brand work typically runs four to six weeks. Website builds run within the week. SEO programs are ongoing, with a six-month minimum commitment to allow results to compound.

Do you work with startups?

Yes — roughly half the client base is venture-backed, Series A through C. Pre-revenue startups aren’t the right fit for this team, but we’re glad to refer you to freelancers we trust.

Technical & Support

Which CMS do you recommend?

It depends on the use case:

  • WordPress — best for content-heavy publications and blogs.
  • Webflow — best for marketing sites where the in-house team will own ongoing edits.
  • Headless React (Next.js or TanStack Start) — best for product-led companies needing tight integration with their app.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Every project ships with a 30-day post-launch warranty. After that, optional monthly care plans start at $1,200/month.

Can you take over a site built by another agency?

Yes, provided the codebase can be audited first. Most takeovers begin with a paid two-week audit to assess what’s actually under the hood before any commitments are made.
